Giclée Printing
Giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) is a high-quality printing process that uses specialized printers to produce fine art prints. Giclée prints are created using archival-quality inks and papers, and they are known for their sharp detail, vibrant colours, and long-lasting durability.
Here are some of the benefits of giclée prints:
- High quality: As mentioned, Giclée prints are known for their sharp detail, vibrant colours, and long-lasting durability.
- Archival quality: Giclée prints are created using archival-quality inks and papers, so they will not fade or yellow over time.
If you are looking for a high-quality print of your artwork, or if you are looking for a gift for an art lover, a giclée print is a great option.
Do Giclée prints have texture?
Texture comes from the quality of paper used and not the actual printing process. I use Canson Infinity Aquarelle Rag (310gsm) which has a similar texture to the actual watercolour paper of the original.
